Sometimes we can be inspired to continue our navigation through grief by someone who isn't technically a grief counselor. Helen Keller said, "Success is getting up just one more time than you fall down."
Grief can be like a fall. Many days it feels like the kind of fall from which you can't get up. Although success isn't a grief goal, surviving it is. It's about getting up from the steep fall of mourning. Keep Helen Keller's quote in mind as a helpful concept to help you weave through the unpredictable aspects of mourning your loss.
Remember, too, that it takes time to get up. If you try to spring forth without honoring the grief you must process, that can be harmful. Rest a bit after the fall and then slowly make your moves toward rising again.
